The Habana Cabana is Oahu's newest cigar club located in downtown Honolulu behind the Hawaii Theater. It's an elegant cigar club with all of the features you'd expect of a private, high end club. The space is divided into three sections. The first is a retail shop with walk in humidor, and private lockers; the second is open seating for wining, dining, drinking, and smoking; the third is a private VIP room for the locker holders (and their guests). Overall, a very warm and elegant setting with a true aloha atmosphere for all cigar lovers. Open to the public w/no membership or entrance fees. Principal is Brian Uy. Be sure to check out their web page too! And be sure to check out the review and photos of the ASC/ICG Honolulu Herf @ Da Club V2.0 which was held there on October 18, 1997!
Directions: Get onto Beretania
Street (heading Ewa)
Turn left onto Nuuanu Avenue,
It'll be on your left just after Mark's Garage
Bonus Hint: If you reach King Street, you went too far!
Parking: I've seen their parking policy change a few times since they opened. The last time I visited, there was full validated parking at Mark's Garage.

One of Honolulu's best seafood restaurants! Beautiful oceanfront
location with spectacular views of Kewalo Basin and Waikiki.
Excellent food and service. Their Sunday brunch is also a real
winner. Definitely one of my all time favorite restaurants! Cigar
smoking is allowed in the lounge and is quickly becoming one of
my favorite places to smoke!
Other Cigar Friendly/Tolerant Places
Another great, informal place to smoke is at Side
Street Inn. Real local place w/beer & pupus! They also have
cigars for sale and smoking is definitely allowed! Also heard
that Sam Choy's has a new cigar smoking room w/lockers! And
herfing also seems to be allowed at Ryans at Ward Warehouse, and
Pacific Cafe at Ward Centre. And the list grows with Anyplace
Lounge on King Street, and Dixie Grill on Ward Avenue. Leland
Chong reports that their Gumbo served with rice is ono! And
Kincaids' at Ward Warehouse is also rumored to allow cigar
smoking in the lounge. Hard to believe!
Misc. Oahu Stuff
Spanish Cedar: The only place I know of locally which carries Spanish Cedar is:
Sanders Trading Company (near Ala Moana
Shopping Center)
1211 Kona Street (nearest cross street is Pensacola)
(808) 596-2303
I got my spanish cedar from Sanders for about $12/board foot. Minimum order is two feet. Selection is minimal. They had two beams the time I was there. One was about 6X8 and the other was about 6X16. Be warned that it's an unfinished block/chunk of wood. You'll still need to machine/plane it down to size. I'm not sure if Sanders will do this for you and for how much. I would call first to check availability and prices.
Hawaii ascers Jon Fia and Monte Monte also report that Spanish Cedar is available from Martin and McArthurs already finished and ready to go! Thanks for the tip guys! Sounds like a good deal!
Propylene Glycol:
You can probably get this from any
of the local pharmacies here, but don't expect to see it on the
shelves. It's a good idea to call first and speak to the
pharmacist because the clerks won't know what you're talking
about and will just tell you that they don't have it. Tell
him/her what you'll be using the PG for...BTW, I noticed that
they don't think it's funny if you mention a b*mb! Jim Mulligan
(1996 ASC/ICG Honolulu Post Xmas Cigar Crawl Alumni) found his at
Longs Drugs Ala Moana Center for about $7.09/pint.
