New Orleans - In (or adjacent to) the French Quarter

Arnaud's French 75 Bar
813 Bienville St.
New Orleans, LA 70112
(504) 523-5433
888-ARNAUDS
http://www.arnauds.com

The old Grill Bar has undergone extensive restoration, was refurnished and has been renamed, simply, Arnaud's French 75 Bar. With cocktails and champagne, it introduces a sassy new venue in one of the city's oldest restaurants. The drink menu is extensive, from the cocktail for which the bar is named -- a heady concoction of brandy and champagne -- to a dizzying selection of martinis and other mixed drinks, wine and beer.

French 75 Bar, open seven days from 5 p.m., is just the latest addition to the Arnaud's tradition of hospitality that has continued uninterrupted since 1918.

Cigar Factory New Orleans
732 Saint Peter St,
New Orleans, LA 70116-3135
(504)588-1003
www.cigarfactoryneworleans.com

The premier spot for cigar enjoyment in New Orleans. They make some very fine cigars here and will make you some up TO ORDER if you give them a couple of days (they do telephone and mail order too). Owned by David Sharuf and his daughter Shawna, this is the last cigar factory in New Orleans. They have three different lines of cigars, all of which are worth a try. The Decatur Street factory is definitely worth a visit - they have tables and chairs to view the rollers while sampling their wares.

The Cigar Factory New Orleans has an additional retail location in the French Quarter: on the 200 block of Bourbon Street.

Just one block across Canal Street from the Quarter, this is the Doug DeShon’s 'bricks and mortar' incarnation of the internet's Payless Cigars. Very excellent selection at just about the best prices in New Orleans. Don't be fooled - the address is St Charles Avenue, but the entrance is around the corner on Common Street.

Crescent City Cigar Shop
730 Orleans Avenue
New Orleans, LA 70116-3111
(504) 522-4427

Crescent City is a fine little shop. And the owners, Armondo and Odalys Ortiz are very nice people. They have the largest walk-in humidor in the French Quarter and some comfortable chairs to refresh you after cruising the Quarter. Definitely worth a stop.

Kingfish Cigars
631 Royal St.
New Orleans, LA 70130-2115
(504) 523-1908

You may know this attractive cigar store as the Big River Trading company or as it's predecessor, Epitome Cigars. Well, Bill Walker is the new proprietor and he's named his store after Louisiana's colorful Depression-era governor, THE Kingfish, Huey Long. Whatever the name, it has many of your favorites in the humidor, some overstuffed chairs to rest your butt, and ashtrays to rest your other butt. And Bill is a very nice guy who's trying hard to please his customers. Stop by, light up a cigar and pretend you're the Kingfish!

300 Bourbon Street
New Orleans, LA
www.sonesta.com/neworleans_royal/

It's a fine informal bar in the 'Quarter with the best libations at the best prices right on Bourbon Street. They have a small selection of excellent cigars and the nicest people you ever wanted to meet. Le Booze is possibly the best place in the Quarter to "people watch"!
