Cigar-friendly Restaurants

The safest bet are the restaurants that also offer monthly or occasional cigar dinners. These include the Mansion Hill Inn and Jack's Oyster House in Albany,
the Phila 43 Bistro in Saratoga, and the Century House in Latham. In addition to these, there are a number of restaurants which I know first-hand that are cigar friendly, and many others that are rumored to be cigar-friendly, even though I haven't had a personal experience with them. In general, all the chefs I know personally in this area, consider good cigars a complement to a good dinner and are very accomodating to cigar smokers. Don't hesitate to ask beforehand whether cigar smoking is permitted.

Cigar-friendly Taverns-Pubs-Bars

As a rule, the more traditional the bar is, the more cigar-friendly it is likely to be. Some of these bars also sell cigars. The fololwing list is only a partial list of bars that I know first-hand to be cigar friendly. In general, all the bars in this area are more likely than not to be cigar-friendly. Smoking cigarettes is very common at most bars here, and cigar-smoking is a small step beyond that.
